Two weird tastes that taste weirder together: That's the pairing of Marilyn Manson and Johnny Depp. They've been friends for a long time? -- Manson was Depp's date at the premiere of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" in 2006. Then, last month,?the pair announced they'd record a cover of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain."
Depp and Manson shared the stage at Wednesday night's fourth annual Revolver Golden Gods awards in L.A.
Manson growled out two songs, a cover of The Eurythmics' 1983 hit "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and his own 1996 song "The Beautiful People" before the crowd as Depp -- wearing a feathered hat -- ground down on his guitar, rarely looking up or cracking a smile.
Manson, who played the awards show's closing set, also jammed with Pretty Reckless singer and?"Gossip Girl"?star Taylor Momsen before inviting Depp onstage.

??Youth Exchange Session discusses youth employment
Hong Kong (HKSAR) - The following is issued on behalf of the Commission on Youth:The Commission on Youth (COY) today (April 11) held an exchange session with youths at the Civic Square, 7/F, Youth Square. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, attended the session and exchanged views with the youths on youth employment.
Mr Cheung said, "The Government is fully committed to promoting youth employment.
Apart from subsidising training institutions to provide training programmes meeting youngsters' needs, the Labour Department also offers a range of youth training and employment support services. Together we offer a series of career advisory, vocational training and employment support services to young school leavers."
He pointed out that 35 000 vocational training and continuing education places, on top of 75 000 tertiary education places, would be made available to cater for the needs of the "double cohort" of secondary school leavers this year.
"With Hong Kong's continuous transition towards a knowledge-based and high-value-added service economy, a faster growth in the demand for highly skilled and highly educated professionals/associate professionals as well as service workers and shop sales workers could be expected in the coming years.
"This apart, the change in Hong Kong's social landscape and a fast-ageing population would also fuel the growing demand for personal and community care and rehabilitation services for the elderly,' he added.
Mr Cheung encouraged the youngsters to make good use of the wide-ranging educational and training opportunities available in accordance with their own interests, abilities and career aspirations.
By doing so, they would be well equipped to grasp the employment opportunities in the job market, he added.
The Chairman of the COY, Mr Bunny Chan, said that the COY would continue to organise exchange sessions and invite government representatives to attend so that youths will have more opportunities to exchange views with them on topics of concern.

Nearly half of the 500 doctors surveyed think the Affordable Care Act, President Barack Obama's signature domestic policy achievement, will have a negative effect on their practices, compared with 23 percent who think it will be positive.
Of the 57 percent of young doctors who are pessimistic, 34 percent cite the new healthcare law or regulations as the reason for pessimism. Other reasons include declining reimbursement for doctors and a decrease in incomes.
Twenty-one percent of the doctors, who were all under the age of 40, said they were neutral about the future of U.S. healthcare, while 22 percent were optimistic. The reasons for optimism included better patient care and that the United States was moving in the right direction with its healthcare system.
The survey was commissioned by The Physicians Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes the work of practicing doctors through grants, research and policy impact studies.
It was founded in 2003 as part of a settlement in an anti-racketeering lawsuit brought by physicians and medical societies against health insurers. The insurers agreed to provide seed money to start the organization.
The survey may add fuel to opponents of the healthcare law, who denounce it as an unwarranted government intrusion. Republican presidential candidates have promised to repeal the law if one of them wins the White House in the November election.
The Supreme Court is also weighing whether Congress overstepped its authority to regulate commerce in approving the law, which mandates that all Americans buy health insurance or pay a fine.
Lou Goodman, president of the Foundation, said the medical profession is still attractive and people are applying in record numbers to medical schools.
"But what we're seeing is that once they get out, it's not what they expected," he said. "Young doctors are finding upheaval and transition in the way the healthcare system is structured right now ... And when our doctors are dissatisfied, we've got a problem with the system."
Goodman said some doctors are worried about the Affordable Care Act and other healthcare changes because they will bring economic considerations into the decisions that doctors make.
One physician quoted in the survey said: "The changes that are being made are not made with the patient in mind, but with the 'bottom line' economically in mind. Not once is the patient mentioned in all these changes."
The doctors were randomly selected in December 2011 from an online database by Medical Marketing Research, which conducted the survey online. Half of physicians were in primary care, 175 were specialists in offices and 75 were specialists in hospitals.

Hannity contacted by shooter in Martin case
NEW YORK (AP) ? Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity has become the second cable news host whose involvement in the Trayvon Martin shooting case has gone beyond merely talking about it on the air.
Hannity acknowledged having a conversation with a man he believed to be George Zimmerman, who shot and killed the black Florida teenager Feb. 26 in a case that has ignited racial tensions. Zimmerman's former lawyers, in quitting the case Tuesday, noted that their client had talked to Hannity more recently than with them.
Hannity, who last week interviewed Zimmerman's father on Fox, said there has been a "rush to judgment" about the shooter.
Over on MSNBC, Al Sharpton has participated in marches and demonstrations in support of Martin while continuing to discuss the case on his evening talk show. There have been stark differences in the attention and focus on the case at the two networks.
A law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press on Wednesday that charges were being filed against Zimmerman and that his arrest was expected. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information.
Hannity's involvement in the case came to light Tuesday at a news conference held by Zimmerman's former lawyers, Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner. Hannity, who said on his show Tuesday night that he's been pursuing a Zimmerman interview for weeks, said he was contacted Monday by a man he believes was Zimmerman.
"He reached out to me, we spoke on the phone about his case and I agreed not to report on the contents of that conversation," Hannity said.
On his radio show Monday, Hannity said he had confirmed that Zimmerman was a mentor to minority children. "Now, if you were racist, I don't think you'd be a mentor to minority children," he said.
With Uhrig and Sonner present, Hannity last week on Fox interviewed Zimmerman's father, Robert. Robert Zimmerman's face was concealed during the interview.
During the interview, Hannity told Zimmerman that "I would argue there has been a rush to judgment." He cited statements made by political and civil rights leaders about the shooting being racially motivated ? George Zimmerman's father is white and his mother Hispanic ? and mentioned President Barack Obama's comment that if he had a son, he would likely look like Trayvon.
Zimmerman's father said he agreed. "I just believe it's very sad that so many people are not telling the truth for their own agenda," he said.
During the interview, Zimmerman's father said he had never heard his son utter a racial slur and, prompted by Hannity, recalled a time when his son helped a black homeless man.
Hannity also devoted a portion of his show Tuesday to discussing a report that the New Black Panther Party had put a bounty on George Zimmerman's head.
There was no progress to report Wednesday on Hannity's attempt to get a George Zimmerman interview, according to Fox.
Cable news networks had sharply different appetites for the case, according to research by the Project for Excellence in Journalism. From March 19 to 28, MSNBC ? where the prime-time hosts are liberal ? the network devoted 49 percent of its on-air time to the Martin story. During the same period at Fox, where the prime-time hosts are conservative, 15 percent of the news hole was spent on the case. It was 40 percent at CNN.
On March 26, for example, MSNBC carried 14 minutes of a mid-afternoon news conference by Martin's parents live and uninterrupted by commercials, the project said. CNN aired the news conference for a little more than five minutes. Fox didn't mention the story at all in that hour, the Excellence Project reported.
The topics that drew the most attention about the case on MSNBC concerned gun control and Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law, the project said. On Fox, the most time spent was on Martin's background and statements in defense of Zimmerman.

Botanical formula shows promise to fight prostate cancer | Hamara ...
Washington, Mar 11 (ANI): Researchers have shed light on the effectiveness of a non-toxic, botanical formula in treating human prostate cancer in an animal model.
According to the study, the botanical formula controls aggressive human prostate tumours in mice.
Researchers at Indiana University, Methodist Research Institute, showed the prostate formula significantly suppresses tumour growth in aggressive, hormone-refractory (androgen-independent) human prostate cancer cells.
The study also demonstrated the formula has no toxic side effects, even at high dosages.
"This study is a milestone in the research of this formula, demonstrating its safety and effectiveness in treating human prostate cancer in an animal model," said researcher and formula inventor Dr. Isaac Eliaz.
"These positive results offer a significant contribution to prostate cancer research and add to the growing body of published data substantiating the role of natural compounds in the treatment of prostate cancer."
The formula combines botanical extracts, phytonutrients, botanically-enhanced medicinal mushrooms and antioxidants.
This is the third study from a major university to demonstrate the formula?s ability to suppress tumour growth and metastasis.
"Multiple studies have demonstrated that this prostate formula is a possible treatment for hormone-refractory prostate cancer," said lead researcher, Dr. Daniel Sliva.
The study found that the orally-administered formula suppressed tumour growth by 27 percent, compared to controls. In addition to significant reduction in tumour volume, the formula inhibited several genes (IGF2, NRNF2 and PLAU/uPA) that encourage cancer proliferation and metastasis.
The formula also increased expression of CDKN1A, a gene that fights prostate cancer by inhibiting cancer-promoting cellular mechanisms.
By suppressing genes related to aggressive prostate cancer growth and proliferation, and increasing the expression of cancer-fighting genes, the formula demonstrates multiple anti-cancer mechanisms and genetic targets.
This pre-clinical in vivo study confirms previously published in vitro data, which showed the formula decreases the expression of PLAU/uPA genes in aggressive, hormone-independent prostate cancer cells.
Prior to this research, the formula was studied at Columbia University and the Cancer Research Laboratory, Methodist Research Institute, at Indiana University Health. These studies also showed the formula inhibits prostate cancer growth and proliferation.
The study has been published in The International Journal of Oncology. (ANI)

Philly Food and Drink: Breakfast for Dinner
Breakfast for dinner can be one of those extraordinarily comforting meals that seems vaguely healthy while still satisfying a craving for something delicious.? After traveling, well, a lot lately, I've decided this will be the week I claim some down time and cook as much as I can, even if it means just putting together a great salad.? Off to the market I went, grabbing whatever fresh ingredients struck my fancy.? And I came up with this dish, which hit the spot.?
You will need: 1 pack of assorted "gourmet" mushrooms, 1 leek, 2 eggs/person, polenta, pesto (fresh is best), white port (or wine), flour, butter, salt, vinegar, olive oil.? Start by chopping the leeks and mushrooms and sauteering them with 1/2 tbsp of butter and some olive oil.? Begin bringing a shallow pot of water to boil to poach the eggs.? To the mushroom and leek mix, add about 1/4-1/2 cup of the white port/wine.? Salt generously.? As this blends, you may want to add about?2 tsp flour to absorb some of?the?wine and?gel the flavors.??
Start sauteeing the polenta in rounds in a light splash of olive oil.? As for the?water, as soon as it boils, turn it down to a simmer,?add a tbsp of white wine vinegar and then slowly submerge each egg, two at a time, depending on?how wide your pot is.? Turn off the heat to the water, cover and?cook for 4 minutes.

Beswick 1 Media is a London based music and media management consultancy. Founded in 2008 by Sharon Beswick, the company employs a team of ten.
The idea for her company was sparked following Sharon?s 20 year career in the music industry. Sharon toured the world singing background vocals for world renowned artists including Take That, the Spice Girls, Chaka Khan, George Michael and Michael Bolton.
Beswick 1 Media provides expert consultation in music and media management designed to help their client base of actors, dancers, musicians, directors and writers achieve their ultimate goals in the entertainment industry.
Why did you decide to start your company?
I decided to start my company after working in the industry for over 20 years doing background vocals for various artists and touring all over the world. Alongside that, I have worked has a make-up artist and I?ve been into fashion since 1987.
So, I decided to take all my experience from over the years and to give back, helping up-and-coming new artists and established artists to pursue their dreams in the industry.
I started my work experience at Radio London with the DJ Tony Blackburn and I loved it. Tony showed me the ropes from behind the scenes at such a young age. I was no more than 16 years old and there and then I knew I wanted to work in the music and media industries.
After that, I worked in the world of fashion learning what?s in and what?s not. From there, I worked in the make-up industry for various top companies in London and at New York Fashion Week.
My career in singing played a huge part too. I worked for artists like Take That, Spice Girls, Chaka Khan, George Michael, Michael Bolton? the list goes on. That?s where I gained all of these experiences. It formed my pathway to where I am today.
Did you always know that you would start your own business?
No not at all, not at the beginning. I was just loving my jobs and learning from some great mentors.
Can you tell us more about the services you offer at Beswick1 Media Management?
Our artist development service is most in demand. This falls under various umbrellas including vocal training, where the artist works with top producers and songwriters within the company to develop their skills.
In addition we help artists get ready for the real world of handling interviews and public relations, knowing who they are and how to bring it across to the public. Our image consultancy department works closely with the artist to form the right look that will go with their personality and music genre.
We also have a stage productions and event planning division. We had the privilege of working on some great productions over the years doing stage management for theatre companies, primarily within the U.S.
We have worked with some of the world?s top jazz artists and vocalists by organising concerts and promo gigs. Beswick 1 Media assists with event planning for whatever the occasion may be.
We also have an entertainment page to bring you the latest news in the music industry, to tell what fashion styles are in and who?s rocking them. Our Biz Media TV outlet brings you the latest music videos and movies of the year.
What are you working on at the moment?
We?re putting together a marketing campaign which involves online commercials, radio adverts, viral marketing via social media websites, and of course word of mouth and strategic meetings via my influential connections.
We have some new artists who we plan to bring over to London for their promo gigs. We?re also launching our session agency for singers, musicians and dancers designed to help them find work within the entertainment industry.
Can you describe your typical working day?
Our day consists of a brief meeting with our team in the morning going over logistics and plans for the week. I then make various business calls, mostly international, to keep our clients happy and informed. We meet new clients and introduce them to the team they will be working with.
What have been the highlights of running your own business?
I must say the highlights are being in control of your destiny, seeing your vision come to pass, being a leader and helping people to fulfill their dreams.
What is the hardest part of running your own business?
The hardest part would have to be always being on your game! I strive to be on top. It?s a competitive business.
What has been your proudest business moment so far?
My proudest business moment I would say is meeting Stevie Wonder and working with the band in London. I?ve worked with them twice now and every time has been phenomenal.
Who inspires me? Well for me to narrow it down, I would say Oprah Winfrey. She makes me proud to be a Black woman.
And who motivates me? People who told me I could not do it! My enemies have, you might say. They are my footstool to greatness. When people say you can?t make it, keep believing in your dreams, believe in yourself, and believe in God. He will help you through. Without him, I am nothing.
If you could turn back the clock would you do anything differently?
No because my experience in life has made me the person who I am today. Sometimes life takes you through challenges and pain. But if you can learn from the pain and hardship then it?s worth going through and coming out pure gold.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering starting an entertainment business?
Just do it! Make it happen. Don?t be afraid to ask for help. There are a lot of organisations and schemes that can help you to start your own business. Start working on your business plan and get it into motion. If I can do it, so can you.
Fast forward five years, where do you think your business will be in 2017?
We will have become one of the top media companies in Europe and across the globe, known for delivering an excellent service to our clients.

Could Twitter Help Save Detroit?
The recession hit hard in Detroit, but there are also signs of some real sparks of innovation and recovery. This past week, Trulia's newly created Home Price Monitor ranked suburban Warren-Troy Farmington as among the top ten U.S. metros with the largest home price increases this past year. ??
And on Wednesday,?Twitter?announced that it will open an office in downtown Detroit.
The?company's?co-founder, Jack Dorsey, is an ardent fan of urban centers. Twitter's main office is in downtown San Francisco, not Silicon Valley. ?The company also has?satellite?offices in New York, London, and recently announced its new German headquarters will be in Berlin.
Twitter's Detroit?office?will located in the Madison?Building, adjacent to the site of the former Madison Theater. Now known as M@dison, it's being redeveloped as a high-tech incubator by?entrepreneur?Dan Gilbert.
Gilbert's push to invest in and redevelop Detroit got started when he moved his company, Quicken Loans, from the suburbs into downtown offices. Now with his development company, Rock Ventures, he owns nine buildings downtown and has?attracted 40 companies to those buildings, all in a very short time. Twitter is, by far, his most high profile catch.
Gilbert is looking to re-brand the city as?Detroit 2.0. Even though some might?call his particular approach to re-branding tacky, it appears to be working.
"Twitter coming downtown is exactly the kind of innovative company Detroit needs to advance our vision of becoming one of the most exciting high-tech and web-centered corridors of growth and activity found anywhere," said Gilbert in a news release. "Twitter chose Detroit because of the city's growing, young and energetic environment. This is further proof that the country is starting to wake up and take notice ? if you want to create a thriving, growing tech business, downtown Detroit is one of the best places to be."
Twitter will start out with only a handful of employee at its new location, but even so, the company is a big addition to Detroit's budding tech scene and downtown renewal effort. And it shows older Rustbelt cities are also part of the broader shift in the location of high-tech companies from more traditional suburban?office?parks some dub "nerdistans" to more central urban locations.
